AC Cobra, the most iconic of British roadsters

Born 60 years ago, the first AC Cobra has been released in summer 1963 and continues to set the motoring world alight today.  Originally built on the same chassis as the AC Bristol, its design was inspired by the lines of the AC Ace to which Carrol Shelby tuned a Ford 4.3 litre aluminium V8 engine with 260 HP. Built in the UK by AC Cars and also known by the name Shelby Cobra because of the collaboration with the American automaker, the AC Cobra soon became the symbol of a spirit of freedom for the fans of automotive.

The AC Cobra’s DNA is based on its incredible lightness combined with lightning power, providing a driving sensation that gives goosebumps to car enthusiasts with every acceleration, accompanied by the deafening sound of the engine.

Several generations of this car wrote the legend of the roadster, notably in motor sport at the legendary 24-hours of Le Mans endurance race and many other circuits.

The original AC Cobra models retain the unmistakable shape and the unique driving sensations for anyone who will take the wheel of the legendary model and the requirements of modern times.
